Quality Control Analyst, Co-op

Pillar5 Pharma Inc., an industry leading Canadian CDMO specializing in off-the-shelf sterile pharmaceuticals for the North American market, has an opening for a Co-op Placement as a Quality Control Analyst at our Arnprior, ON location. Reporting to the Quality Control Team Lead, you will support chemical analysis of raw materials or manufactured goods in an accurate, precise, and timely manner. This position will have the main responsibility for  conducting analysis according to the item’s specific requirements and will entail the knowledge and use of a variety of analytical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Support schedules and required chemical and physical tests on semi-finished and finished goods, raw materials, and stability samples.
• Support the operation of analytical instrumentation used during analysis.
• Works independently and within teams to achieve department objectives.
• Records test results in keeping with documentation standards.
• Recommends solutions and process improvements in quality control testing or in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university or College Program in a relevant scientific discipline (chemistry preferred).
• Understanding of laboratory practices in preparation and analysis of samples for chemical analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Understanding of routine maintenance and troubleshooting and analytical instrumentation.
• Understanding of documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven and demonstrated understanding of laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, FTIR, NIR, AA Spectroscopy, UV-VIS Spectroscopy).
• Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
