OpEx Specialist

Pillar5 Pharma Inc., an industry leading Canadian CDMO specializing in off-the-shelf sterile pharmaceuticals for the North American market, has an opening for an OpEx Specialist at our Arnprior, ON location. The OpEx Specialist will provide support to our world class manufacturing journey by driving and implementing Continuous Improvement activities. With experience and background in methods and industrial engineering (i.e., time studies, ergonomics, manufacturing optimization), you will be an agent of change with an open mind for understanding and communicating the importance of continuous improvement by rolling up your sleeves and leading by example.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support all 5S related activities for driving change from the bottom up.
  • Facilitate lean manufacturing training when needed.
  • Have direct involvement in developing new and improving existing processes to maximize production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while coordinating and reporting actions around KAIs (Key Action Indicators) in place.
  • Have an open mind for understanding the impact across all areas of the business after implementing Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Provide coaching and support to shift supervisors and crews including studies, investigations, and problem solving.
  • Challenge status quo in a persuasive way, always using a coaching approach.
  • Support the lean manufacturing suggestion program, and other Kaizen activities.
  • Interact with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Must have 3+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post secondary education in a relevant field – engineering education preferred.
  • Ability to identify and understand all types of waste using lean manufacturing tools against daily activities.
  • Experience in product flow optimization, identification of inefficiencies and waste through lean manufacturing concepts, including but not limited to: Layout optimization, JIT, SMED, OEE
  • Experience with key Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts including: root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, 5 Why’s
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to bring projects to closure on time and within budget.
