Process Engineer

Reporting to the Head of APA, the Process Engineer will facilitate the effective implementation of process and continuous improvement initiatives at all levels of production. You will be responsible for managing assigned manufacturing projects and providing advanced technical assistance to the manufacturing groups.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, build, and improve systems and processes to optimize and streamline operations.
  • Analyze our operations and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of productivity, quality, etc.
  • Assist in mapping production processes, analyze these processes for optimization and improvement opportunities, standardize these processes to the best practices.
  • Have direct involvement in developing new and improving existing processes to maximize production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while coordinating and reporting actions around KAIs (Key Action Indicators) in place.
  • Have an open mind for understanding the impact across all areas of the business after implementing Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Provide coaching and support to shift supervisors and crews including studies, investigations, and problem solving.
  • Challenge status quo in a persuasive way, always using a coaching approach.
  • Support the lean manufacturing suggestion program, and other Kaizen activities.
  • Interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Contribute to documenting the equipment performance, the materials evolution, the production processes, and the experimental data for corporate learnings preservation.

Qualifications

  • Engineering/Technical background in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering
  • Must have 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience will be considered an asset.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to bring projects to closure on time and within budget.
  • Supports the use of Six Sigma and LEAN manufacturing programs to improve product quality, reduce product cycle times, and improve product yields.
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement accomplishments (Lean Six Sigma certification will be considered an asset).
  • Demonstrated Leadership aptitudes in a cross-functional teams’ environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in formal and informal contexts.
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Exposure to manufacturing sector (kaizen, lean principles & methodologies) a significant asset
  • Demonstrated work experience in a change management/process improvement or operational excellence role.
