Technical Services Specialist/Project Manager

Maternity Leave Position – 1 year

Pillar5 Pharma Inc., an industry leading Canadian CDMO specializing in off-the-shelf sterile pharmaceuticals for the North American market, has an opening for a Technical Services Specialist/Project Manager in Arnprior, ON. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your main role is to lead multiple projects for technical transfers and product introductions, execute validation activities, and to provide technical support to Manufacturing Operations.

Responsibilities

  • As a Project Manager, the Specialist has accountability to manage assigned projects from project start to close-out. The Specialist is responsible for leading and integrating a cohesive and effective cross-functional team, and is expected to operate with a high degree of independence.
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing Operations in problem solving and evaluating new processes, equipment and systems.  Support day to day operations as required, communicating cross-functionally to ensure alignment of activities towards Customer Service goals.
  • Develop or assist in the development of validation protocols and the execution of validation activities.
  • Manage routine customer interactions, including co-leading project teams with Customer Project Managers.
  • Actively involved in Quality Audits (Regulatory Bodies and Customers) and Right First Time initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary degree in Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a manufacturing environment and proven project management skills.
  • Thoroughly familiar with PM concepts and processes.  Professional designation, PMP, is valued.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical GMPs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including listening skills.
  • Experience in technical writing, statistical analysis, root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
